Our name, Shiraz, is derived from the Ancient City that was at one time the capital of Persia/Iran.
Shiraz Grille is a casual-fine dining Persian Cuisine Restaurant located in Southeast Grand Rapids, locally family owned and run, and what we’d like to think of as a personal and soulful extension of the love we have for Persian Tradition!
Shiraz Grille offers ethnic Persian Cuisine for those in search of an authentic cultural experience, apart from the every day. But what is Persian Cuisine? Persian food, while being uniquely different from traditional American cuisine, certainly combines familiar with exotic. Typical Persian foods and spices include pistachios, pomegranates, limes, dill, yogurt, mint, walnuts, onion, turmeric, cilantro, cumin, dates, sumac, chickpeas, rice, lentils, cardamom, barberries, cherries, fava beans, eggplant, spinach, fenugreek, rosewater, garlic, figs, cinnamon, oranges, lamb, chicken, duck, beef, and many more. The dishes of Persia are full of contrasting tastes, ranging from savory to sweet, sharp to mild, and spicy to green.
Our array of entrees includes beef and chicken fire-grilled kabobs, lamb dishes, Salmon and shrimp kabobs. A vast array of vegetarian entrees such as Dolmeh Felfel, sweet & savory gourmet stews that have simmered all day, soups made with fresh-chopped herbs and lentils, barbari bread & basmati rice.
